This article explores the construction of female characters within Shakespearean tragedy through the use of language as a means towards the constitution of their subjectivity. Through the study of paradigmatic female characters, such as Juliet, Lady Macbeth, or Cleopatra, we will analyse how these characters interact with familial and social authorities in order to surpass the domestic realm that they have been forced into, so as to assert themselves as dramatic agents within the invariably patriarchal society that surrounds them. ; La presente investigación analiza la construcción de los personajes femeninos dentro de la tragedia shakespeariana mediante el uso del lenguaje como camino hacia la constitución de su propia subjetividad. A partir del estudio de personajes femeninos paradigmáticos como lo son Julieta, Lady Macbeth o Cleopatra, se analiza cómo dichos personajes se relacionan con la autoridad paterna y social para intentar superar el ámbito doméstico al que son relegadas, con el fin de convertirse en agentes dramáticos dentro de la realidad invariablemente patriarcal que las rodea. |
