In this paper we describe the principles and some of the aplications of the erbium amplifier for operation in a band extensible to the conventional. We will investigate the advantages of using optical amplifiers with large bandwidth on the actual comunications systems. Also, we will study and implement a recent technique for equalization of the gain by means C-band pumping. Based on this amplifier a 10nm L-band tunable laser will also implemented. ; Nesta contribuição pretendemos analisar osprincípios e algumas das aplicações de amplificadores deérbio a operarem na banda L, contígua à convencional. Averiguam-se as vantagens do uso de amplificadoresópticos com grande largura de banda nos actuais sistemas decomunicação. Uma recente técnica de equalização de ganho, por bombagem na banda C, é estudada por simulação. E implementada laboratorialmente É também concretizadoexperimentalmente um laser na banda L com tunabilidadeacima dos 10nm. |
