| الوصف: | International audience ; What spatial processes are made possible by the ritual use of a particular class of artifacts known as ritual bundles? In this article, the question is explored through the case of the Skiri-Pawnee, a Native American nation from the Central Plains. A rich corpus of ethnographic material collected at the turn of the 20th century provides a basis for discussing some aspects of Pawnee ritual life in the second half of the 19th century. While the centrality of bundles in the ceremonial and political organization of the Pawnee is widely known and commented upon, little attention has been paid, in the detail of ritual dynamics, to the spatial effects produced by their handling. We discuss the narrative force at the heart of the spatial processes performed with the major ritual bundles, known as “rains wrapped up.” ; Quelles opérations spatiales sont rendues possibles par l’usage, en contexte rituel, d’une classe particulière d’artéfacts appelés paquets rituels ? Nous traiterons cette question à partir du cas d’une société amérindienne de l’Amérique du Nord : les Skiri-Pawnee. Un riche corpus de documents ethnographiques collectés au tournant du XXe siècle permet de discuter certains aspects de la vie rituelle pawnee dans la deuxième moitié du XIXe siècle. Si la centralité des paquets dans l’organisation cérémonielle et politique des Pawnee est largement connue et commentée, peu d’attention en revanche a été portée, dans le détail de la dynamique rituelle, aux effets spatiaux produits par leur manipulation. En particulier, nous soulignerons la force narrative logée au cœur des opérations spatiales réalisées avec les paquets rituels majeurs, dits cuharipi.ru’. |
