The objective of this work is to identify the key, driving, and strategic sectors for the generation of output and employment in Mexico City, using the hypothetical extraction method within the framework of input-output analysis. Trade is the main key sector, followed by sectors related to the financial, transportation, real estate, and pharmaceutical industries. The results highlight the need to diversify the city’s productive structure towards knowledge-intensive sectors that support the growth and competitiveness of the local and national economy. ; El objetivo de este trabajo es identificar los sectores que son clave, impulsores y estratégicos para la generación de producto y empleo en la Ciudad de México, utilizando el método de extracción hipotética en el marco del análisis insumo-producto. El comercio es el principal sector clave, seguido de sectores ligados al ámbito financiero, de transporte, inmobiliario y farmacéutico. Los resultados destacan la necesidad de diversificar la estructura productiva de la ciudad hacia sectores intensivos en conocimiento que apuntalen el crecimiento y la competitividad de la economía local y nacional. |
