الوصف: The heavy metals present in the discharge of untreated effluents mainly from tanneries and electroplating industry is considered as one of the most important toxic pollutants in the environment. This study is about removal of Cr(VI) using natural adsorbent.The process of adsorption is the effective technique for Cr(VI) removal from wastewater. Batch adsorption study determines that sugarcane bagasse has a significant capacity for adsorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solution. The parameters considered for this adsorption study includes contact time, adsorbent dosage, pH, initial Cr(VI) concentration. The adsorption process of Cr(VI) is evaluated with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. Langmuir isotherm model yielded maximum adsorption capacity of 14.79 mg/g at a solution pH of 7.
