Il canto corale delle Tesmoforiazuse di Aristofane (vv. 947-1000) rappresenta uno degli esempi pi significativi – in ambito teatrale – di quell’insieme armonico di parole, musica, canto e danza che va sotto il nome di choreia. Nel presente lavoro si propone un’ipotetica ricostruzione della performance di tale brano attraverso elementi testuali e metrici, supponendo ci che potesse avvenire nell’orchestra. Con questo canto corale Aristofane offre al pubblico del teatro di Dioniso un brillante spettacolo di danza e, allo stesso tempo, continua a “sfidare” nell’arte drammatica Euripide, che il protagonista – insieme con il suo teatro – di questa commedia. ; The choral song of Aristophanes’ Thesmophoriazusae (ll. 947-1000) is one of the most significant examples – in the ancient Greek theatre – of choreia, the harmonious synthesis of words, music, song and dance. In this paper we propose a hypothetical reconstruction of the performance of this song through textual and metric elements, supposing what might have taken place in the orchestra. With this choral song Aristophanes offers the audience of the Theatre of Dionysus a brilliant dance performance and, at the same time, continues to “challenge” in the dramatic art Euripides, who is the protagonist – together with his theatre – of this comedy. |
