The end of the Spanish Civil War (July 1936-April 1939) involved the exile of more than 50,000 people in order to save their lives and avoid Franco’s repression. Such was the case of Sara Berenguer, a member of the libertarian movement «Mujeres Libres» («Free Women»). This paper explorers her militant action, focusing on her experience as an exile libertarian woman. We make use of both some oral sources and the last works she published on her own political experience after the Civil War, on occasion of a «Colloquium on the Liberal Exiles in France (1939-1975) through Oral History». We aim at delving deeper into how she lived in exile and the difficulties and moments that marked her militant identity and personal life. We try to recover her truth, her experience and subjectivity to better understand the driving force behind her political action. All this enriches our knowledge about exile in general, with the inclusion of life stories –always personal and unique– providing an insight into the situation of libertarian women in exile, their activities and responsibilities, as well as gender transgressions, and their limits. In short, the experience of Sara Berenguer is a small piece of the memory of the women in exile, of their activities, as varied and diverse as they were valuable, and in many cases, fading away. ; El fin de la Guerra Civil española (julio 1936-abril 1939) trajo consigo el exilio de más de 500.000 personas con el fin de evitar la represión franquista y salvar la vida. Ese fue el caso de Sara Berenguer, militante del movimiento libertario de la agrupación «Mujeres Libres». El presente trabajo analiza su acción militante poniendo énfasis en su experiencia como libertaria, exiliada y mujer. Para ello, se acude a algunas fuentes orales y a los últimos trabajos que publicó Berenguer sobre su propia experiencia política tras la Guerra Civil, con ocasión de las jornadas del Coloquio Sobre el Exilio Libertario en Francia (1939-1975) A través de la Historia Oral.
