Every year thousands of people see themselves in the need of leaving their homessince they are not habitable anymore due to ecological adversities. This articleanalyzes the situation of the eco-refugees from a legal perspective. In the first placethe concept of this term is reviewed in order to consider afterwards the environmental issues that force people to move from their country of origin, and finally,their position in International Law taking into consideration the Convention on theStatus of Refugees of 1951 and its additional Protocols. ; Cada año son miles de personas las que deben abandonar sus hogares pues estos yano son habitables debido a adversidades ecológicas. En este artículo se analiza lasituación de los eco-refugiados desde una perspectiva jurídica. En primer lugar, serevisa el concepto de este término para después examinar los motivos ambientalesque obligan a las personas a movilizarse de sus países de origen y finalmente setoma en cuenta su posición en el Derecho Internacional para lo que se estudió laConvención sobre el Estatuto de los Refugiados de 1951 y sus Protocolos adicionales. |
