| الوصف: | The present study examines the relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth using the data of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The study covers the period of 1980-2008. The Johansen-Fisher cointegration approach is applied and results indicate the presence of cointegration between electricity consumption and economic growth. The VECM Granger causality analysis reveals that the relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth in long run is bidirectional but in short run, economic growth is Granger cause of electricity consumption. |
