Unmanned aerial systems (UASs) are equipment that have many applications in multiple sectors including archaeology, history, ethnography and cultural heritage. Photogrammetry is a transversal discipline with a long trajectory and great methodological variability, and allows a wide range of applications for the geometrical registration of all kinds of elements. The combination of photogrammetry and UAS generates a range of possibilities in many cases still to be explored. This article presents three study cases that use UAS and Structure from Motion (SfM-MVS) photogrammetry for topographic and geometric registration of archaeological, historical and ethnographic sites, some of them classified as cultural heritage, located in coastal and shallow aquatic environments that are difficult to register with traditional methods. The results show that using low-cost equipment, it is possible to carry out this type of geometric registration and heritage prospecting work in coastal and shallow aquatic environments with great performance in terms of cost and quality. In an interdisciplinary perspective this methodology will provide new possibilities of study, restoration and valuation of archaeological, historical and ethnographic monuments. (undefined) |
