Nathalie Spielmann and Fabrice Parisot founded Prise de Mousse (PdM), the first and only champagne bar and shop in the Champagne region in France. Capitalizing on the popularity of the Champagne region as the second most visited in France, PdM had become a successful destination for both locals and tourists. The owners had recently been approached about possibly expanding their business through franchising. While franchising PdM seemed like an interesting idea, was it the right business strategy at the right time? While tourism in the Champagne region was expecting to increase, would there be a need for more businesses like PdM? What might be the next steps for PdM?
