As part of the infrastructure integration between Chile and Argentina there is the plan to build the Aguas Negras Interconexion Road. It seeks, finally, to improve the physical and commercial connectivity of the zones between the ports of Porto Alegre (Brasil) and Coquimbo (Chile). It passes the Andes Mountaines and includes the construction of a tunnel for vehicular traffic as well as the extension of the access road D-41CH on the Chilean side. This paper presents the result of a study done to establish those cities or communities that may be affected during construction or future operation of the route. It also presents the mitigation actions and solutions that could be used to reduce the noise impact.
