This paper reflects the various performance statistics and the root causes of fault conditions in Electrical Machines, the Induction Machines in particular. This area has always been chased mostly and still stays relevant to the industries as Induction motors are one of the most popular work horse in Electrical industry. The fault identification, analysis, the root causes and the mitigation strategies are discussed in this paper in detail. A study is conducted on Induction Machines installed under various environments. The machines are closely observed to identify the main and most vital factors which cause a total damage to the machine. The study reveals that majority of fault occurs due to the stress in the rotor structure. Optimization and deep learning techniques are proposed in various studies where the high probability factor of an induction machine issue is not coined apt. This study reveals the major requirement of a most optimized objective function to minimize the stress and temperature rise in the induction motor.
