| الوصف: | Use of spoken word cassettes in libraries increased steadily during the last decade and this fonnat is now considered the second fastest growing after video. Once available only to blind and handicapped through Library of Congress Talking Books program, audiocassettes are available in many genres, i.e., popular fiction, classics, history, self-help, and subliminal wilh frequent innovative uses. Used by a wide variety of library goers, especially commuters and those isolated or performing repetitive tasks, unabridged tapes are gaining popularity. Reduction and narration are increasingly sophisticated. The article describes selection tools for adult library collections well as a sampling of audio publishers with addresses/tel. and brief descriptions of their focus. |
