الوصف: | This paper investigated an optimized-microphone array configuration based on a genetic algorithm (GA) to improve the map resolution of output beamforming. Simulation and experimental studies are conducted to explore the applicability of GA array configuration. Firstly, the beamforming method is applied to a simulated linear array configuration based on GA. Then, the simulation study is repeated for a planar and a circular array configuration. The performance of the GA technique was assessed in terms of the level of sidelobe reduction and improving resolution map. The achieved results show the higher resolution of GA configuration in comparison with regular and random configurations. Finally, the correctness of GA algorithm has been checked by hemi-anechoic experiments. Improved spatial resolution and robustness of solution has been seen for the GA array configuration compared to the existing array configurations. |
