الوصف: Low-Frequency AC (LFAC) transmission topology is a contemporary technology for offshore wind power transmission along with High Voltage AC (HVAC) and Voltage Source Converter High Voltage DC (VSC-HVDC) transmission topology. It has gained paramount importance in the literature as an alternative to the existing conventional HVAC and VSC-HVDC transmission solutions for integrating offshore wind farms. Hence, efficient design and reliability of offshore wind power transmission topologies are essential requirements for the smooth operation of the transmission grid. In this paper, the LFAC transmission topology and its reliability performance are presented. The Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) has been used to analyze and determine the reliability of the LFAC transmission topologies.
