الوصف: This chapter focuses on the common ground for the dialogue, drawing on the strengths of both Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and restorative justice (RJ) movements in addressing intimate partner violence. It examines some of the lessons learned within each movement with respect to how to better serve women. The chapter reviews the commonality of interests of the movements such as making interventions victim-centered; addressing issues of safety; focusing on men being responsible for their violence; engaging the local community to take responsibility to support the individual to change. It examines the strengths of the IPV movement and its commonalities with RJ principles. The IPV movement and the restorative movement are both movements for social justice and social change. They are both feminist movements that seek to challenge how issues of sexism, racism, and class serve to support men’s violence against women. Members of the community are invited to take responsibility to restore safety, equality, and respect for women.
