| الوصف: | IX Congreso Geológico de España, 12-14 septiembre 2016, Huelva.-- 4 pages, 2 figures [EN] The present work presents the premilinary results about the geomorphology and recent sedimentary processes in the northern sector of the Argentine continental margin, based on the seismic and acoustic data obtained during the recent MIXTO cruise on board the Hesperides vessel. Morfo-seismic and stratigraphy of the recent sedimentary register indicate the presence on the continental shelf, of agradational and progradational units overlaid by infilled paleochannels, sediment bars and biconstructions; and on the continental slope, of a sediment wave field, valleys, erosive surface and a scour field. The spatial and temporal distributions of these sedimentary features suggest the continental shelf has been dominated by coastal and shelfal sedimentary processes related to the advance and retreat of the coastline and their associated sedimentary environments, during the last glacio-eustatic change. The dominant sedimentary processes on the continental slope are mainly related to bottom currents with variable energy flow along- and-downslope, whereas the gravitational processes play a minor role [ES] En este trabajo se presentan los resultados preliminares sobre la geomorfología y los procesos sedimentarios recientes en el sector norte del margen continental de Argentina, en base a los datos acústicos y sísmicos obtenidos recientemente en la campaña MIXTO, a bordo del buque Hespérides. La morfo-sísmica y la estratigrafía reciente revela en la plataforma continental, la existencia de unidades agradantes y progradantes tapizadas por una unidad con paleocanales colmatados, barras de sedimento y bioconstrucciones; y en el talud continental la existencia de un campo de ondas de sedimento, valles, una superficie de erosión y un campo de surcos. La distribución espacial y temporal de estos elementos sedimentarios sugiere que la plataforma continental ha estado dominado por procesos sedimentarios costeros y de plataforma, relacionados con el avance y retroceso de la línea de costa durante el último cambio glacio-eustático. Los procesos sedimentarios dominantes en el talud continental han estado gobernados principalmente por la acción longitudinal de corrientes de fondo con variaciones laterales en sus características energéticas, y en menor medida por procesos transversales gravitacionales |
