| مستخلص: | General guidelines for drug therapy in the newborn foal are presented, and particular attention is paid to alterations in drug disposition processes (that is, absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) that occur during the neonatal period. Laboratory tests that can guide the selection and dosage of antimicrobial agents and monitor serum drug levels are described. Commonly used antimicrobial agents, as well as the newer cephalosporins, are discussed and suggested dosages are given. |
