مستخلص: A new screwworm fly trap that catches the flies as they move upwind toward the attractant, Swormlure-2 (SL-2), was developed. This wind oriented nap (WOT) maintains a constant orientation with the wind. It was field tested and compared with the standard blowfly trap (STT). The WOT caught more primary screwworm flies, Cochliomyia hominivorax (Coquerel), than the STT in every collection date and was beller than or equal to the laller in every trapping site. The WOT caught a lower % (29) and number (7358) of secondary screwworm flies, C. macellaria (F.), than the STT (65% and 18906 flies). The WOT caught a lower % of males of both species but caught a greater number of C. hominivorax males. The WOT is more efficient in trapping C. hominivorax flies, easier to handle, and costs less than the STT.
