The article explores best management practices of cotton growers in Namoi, New South Wales. It was shown that 23% of Namoi growers monitor their groundwater salinity at least yearly. About 67% of Namoi growers also monitor their groundwater salinity at least every few years. Besides salinity testing, growers are urged to conduct more comprehensive testing through an environmental laboratory. It is also essential to manage the quality of water, both surface and ground, to protect the industry. |
