مستخلص: Wind turbines located in large wind farms are subjected to wakes of neighboring turbines, which gives additional fatigue loading on the turbine structure. Within the Dutch FLOW research project an engineering design tool is developed within the integrated wind turbine design package FOCUS6. With this tool one can simulate the dynamic loads of wind turbines in a wind farm, using an engineering design tool based on the Dynamic Wake Meandering method, DWM. The DWM method is proposed for the follow-up requirements for wind turbine design. The results with this engineering design tool compare reasonably well with the results from existing methods for wind farm wake effects. Potential improvements can be achieved on wake meandering and on the detailed spectrum of the added turbulence from wake mixing. It is shown that this design tool is capable of analyzing the effect of wake controlling algorithms in the upstream turbine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
