The article presents a study on electronic test order and results viewing system usage to determine the rate of radiology and microbiology tests that did not receive follow-ups. The study was initiated through a computerised provider order entry (CPOE) in a particular hospital in Sydney, New South Wales. Results show that follow-ups were not made for two radiology (1.0 percent) and two microbiology (3.0 percent) tests, however, the rate of missed test results are still deemed as low. |
