Abstract (English): |
Most of the successive governments of the Islamic nation that contradicted Shiite thought had a negative impact on the progress of the Shiite scientific movement, especially in Baghdad, and this kind of narrowing in the field of scientific activity is the reason for the migration of their scholars from it. Sheikh al-Tusi migrated from Baghdad to the Holy City of Najaf to establish a new scientific school. For the sect there, he was the one who laid its foundations and built its pillars, and during his time it witnessed remarkable scientific activity, and this movement became more active in the last years of the Abbasid Caliphate, which witnessed a relative breakthrough, especially after the arrival of some Shiites to the ruling court, as their conditions improved relatively and they rebuilt scientific and cultural institutions. in the country. However, after Sheikh al-Tusi, the Shiite school witnessed a stagnation in the scientific movement, specifically in the field of jurisprudence, and this stagnation extended for a century, until scholars appeared who stimulated the process of ijtihad, and the first person to make a serious attempt to develop the process of ijtihad and jurisprudence was Ibn Idris al-Hilli, who He provided a clear service to the ijtihad movement, and broke the stagnation barrier to freedom of scientific research in Shiite jurisprudence. As an extension of this scientific movement, the phenomenon of codification in the field of virtues and virtues became widespread in the sixth and seventh centuries AH. Sunni and Shiite scholars wrote down the virtues of the People of the House (peace be upon them), and the process of cultural exchange became widespread among Muslims, as the hadith texts were not influenced by the different sects. Large scholarly families also appeared in these two centuries who provided great services to the sect on the scientific and cultural levels on a large scale, such as: the Al-Tabarsi family, the Al-Mutahhar family, and the Al-Tawoos family.
