Introduction: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a most common inflammatory skin disease; which has a substantial impact on the quality of life of patients. Without clear diagnostic tests, the clinical diagnosis and natural history of the disease and with medical evaluation is the Gold Standard for its diagnosis. Treatment options for pediatric patients with AD are very limited. New therapeutic targets have been identified with advances in Ad research Development: This is an article reviewing the documents of scientific societies dedicated to the care of atopic dermatitis in children, as well as systematic reviews and current scientific studies was carried out through the search engines SCOPUS, WOS and Pubmed and Google Scholar both in Spanish. like in English. Practical applications: In recent years, new treatments have come onto the market for use in AD in children. Additionally, many emerging topical and systemic agents are described. that are being investigated. Conclusions: Atopic dermatitis is a common dermatological disease in childhood worldwide. The use of diagnostic criteria allows us to determine the index of severity and the treatment regimen for this disease. For treatment, corticosteroids and tacrolimus are the mainstay. Currently, results are expected from different emerging treatments with promising efficacy and safety profiles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

Introducción: La dermatitis atópica (DA) es una enfermedad inflamatoria más frecuente de la piel; que tiene un impacto sustancial en la calidad de vida de los pacientes. Sin pruebas diagnósticas claras, el cuadro clínico y la historia natural de la enfermedad y con la evaluación médica es el Gold Standartd para su diagnóstico. Las opciones de tratamiento para los pacientes pediátricos con DA se encuentra muy limitada. Desarrollo: Se realizó un artículo de revisión de los documentos de las sociedades científicas dedicadas al cuidado de la dermatitis atópica en niños, así como de revisiones sistemáticas y estudios científicos actuales por medio de los buscadores SCOPUS, WOS y Pubmed y Google Scholar tanto en español como en inglés. Aplicaciones prácticas: En los últimos años, han salido nuevos tratamientos al mercado para su uso en DA en niños. Además, se describen muchos agentes emergentes tópicos y sístemicos. que se están investigando en la actualizada Conclusiones: La dermatitis atópica es una enfermedad dermatológica común en la infancia a nivel mundial. El uso de criterios diagnósticos permite determinar el grado de afectación y la pauta de tratamiento para esta enfermedad.
