مستخلص: |
This article discusses a case of TEN-like acute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (ACLE), a rare condition that presents with symptoms similar to toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). The case involves a 19-year-old female who developed a rash all over her body, which progressed to extensive skin detachment and mucous membrane involvement. The diagnosis of ACLE was made based on clinical features, autoimmune serology consistent with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and histopathological findings. Treatment included steroids, antibiotics, and hydroxychloroquine, resulting in marked clinical improvement. The article emphasizes the importance of differentiating ACLE from drug-induced TEN for appropriate management and prognosis. [Extracted from the article] |
