This study aimed to explore the role of modern information and communication technology in achieving a competitive advantage in Saudi universities, the University of Tabuk as a " model", then to reveal whether there are differences between the responses of the study sample members about the reality of the application of modern information and communication technology, and to determine the level of competitive advantage at the University of Tabuk, attributed to the two variables: (Gender - Degree). To achieve the aim of the study; the descriptive analytical approach was adopted, through a questionnaire designed for this purpose. The study sample represented a group of faculty members at the University of Tabuk, which consisted of (192) faculty members, who represented the University of Tabuk. The study reached a set of results, most notably: that the total degree of application of modern information and communication technology at University of Tabuk was at a high level of application; the level of achieving a competitive advantage in general at the University of Tabuk was also at a high level, and the results indicated that the practices of the University of Tabuk in the application of modern information and communication technology, especially in the human and organizational dimensions, contribute to achieving a competitive advantage in general in the University of Tabuk, while the application of modern information and communication technology in the technical dimension, does not contribute to achieving a competitive advantage in general in the university. The study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≥ 0.05) between the means of the degrees of estimation of the sample members to the degree of application of modern information and communication technology at the University of Tabuk in general, and in the three dimensions, attributed to the degree variable. The study also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05≥α), between the means of the response of the sample members about the level of achieving a competitive advantage at the University of Tabuk in general, and in the three dimensions, attributed to the variables of gender and academic degree. The study reached a set of recommendations, the most important of which is to enhance the use of the technical dimension of information and communication technology, in order to achieve a competitive advantage for the University of Tabuk through many procedures. هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد دور تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصال الحديثة؛ يف تحقيق ميزةٍ تنافسيةٍ بالجامعات السعودية، جامعة تبوك "أنموذجًا"، ثم الكشف عمَّا إذا كانت هناك فروقٌ بين استجابات أفراد عينة الدراسة حول درجة تطبيق تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصال الح ديثة، وتحديد مستوى امليزة التنافسية بجامعة تبوك، تعزى ملتغيري: )الجنس – الدرجة العلمية(. ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة؛ اعْتُمِدَ املنهجُ الوصفي التحليلي، وذلك من خالل استبانةٍ صُممت لهذا الغرض. وتمثلت عينة الدراسة يف مجموعةٍ من أعضاء هيئة التدريس يف جامعة تبوك، تكونت من )192 )عضو هيئة تدريسٍ، مثَّلوا الجامعة. وقد توصلت الدراسة ملجموعةٍ من النتائج أبرزها: أنَّ درجة تطبيق تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصال الحديثة )الكلي( يف جامعة تبوك، قد جاءت ضمن م ستوى التطبيق املرتفع؛ ، كما أنَّ مستوى تحقيق ميزة تنافسية بشكلٍ عام يف جامعة تبوك، قد جاء ضمن املستوى املرتفع ايضا، كما أشارت النتائج إلى أنَّ ممارسات جامعة تبوك يف تطبيق تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصال الحديثة، وبخاصةٍ يف البُعد البشري، والبُعد التنظيمي، تساهم يف تحقيق ميزةٍ تنافسية بشكلٍ عام يف جامعة تبوك، يف حين أنَّ تطبيق تكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصال الحديثة يف البُعد التقني، ال تساهم يف تحقيق ميزة تنافسية بشكلٍ عام يف الجامعة. واظهرت الدراسة وجود فروق ذات داللة إحصائية عند مستوى داللة )05.0) ≥αبين املتوسطات الحسابية لدرجات تقدير أفراد العينة لدرجة تطبيق تكنولوجيا املعلومات، واالتصال الحديثة بجامعة تبوك بشكلٍ عام، ويف األبعاد الثالثة، تعزى ملتغير الدرجة العلمية كما بينت الدراسة عدم وجود فروقٍ ذات داللة إحصائية عند مستوى داللة )05.0)≥α ،بين املتوسطات الحسابية الستجابة أفراد العينة حول مستوى تحقيق ميزة تنافسية بجامعة تبوك بشكلٍ عام، ويف األبعاد الثالثة، تعزى ملتغيري الجنس والدرجة العلمية؛ وخرجت الدراسة بالعديد من التوصيات أهمها إعادة النظر بتوظيف البُعد التقني لتكنولوجيا املعلومات واالتصال، بما يخدم تحقيق ميزةٍ تنافسيةٍ لجامعة تبوك من خالل العديد من االجراءات.
