Apocynum venetum is a kind of precious wild plant resources in China, which has medical functions and textile characteristic. This paper introduced pharmacological action, biochemical composition, physiological activity and the factors affecting the quality of Apocynum venetum, and forecasts the protection and comprehensive utilization of the ecological resources of Apocynum venetum，so as to provide a certain scientific theoretical basis for the research and development of Apocynum venetum in China.
