As a text-based approach to language textlinguistic acting on the assumption that a kind of relation exists between words and sentences regards seven criteria: cohesion, coherence, intentionality, situationality, acceptability, informativity and intertextuality. Cohesion belonging to the category of surface structure and falling into two types as grammatical and lexical cohesion investigates the concrete relationship between sentence meaning and word order. Cohesion relating directly to surface text is classified as the most important criteria of textuality. The topic of this study carried out in the context of textlinguistic criteria is analysis of a short story "A Crossbreed" by Kafka and explanation of the surface structure of this text. In this study, the basic layer of the narrative will be determined first. Following the determination of this basic transformation, which begins with the desire of the main character to get rid of the object in his hands and is completed with the renunciation of this desire, the lower layers of the narrative will be examined. These seven different sub-layers, which are patterned together on the narrative floor and form the skeleton of the basic narrative layer, also contain transformations within themselves and they contribute to the integration of the main character of the narrative with the object it wants to get rid of. Sözcükler ve tümceler arasındaki bağıntılardan yola çıkarak dile bir metin olarak yaklaşan metindilbilim. yedi ölçütten hareket etmektedir: bağlaşıklık, bağdaşıklık, amaçlılık, durumsallık. kabul edilebilirlik, bilgisellik ve metinler arası ilişki. Bu ölçütlerden küçük ölçekli yapı kategorisinde yer alan ve sözcüksel ve dilbilgisel olarak ikiye ayrılan bağlaşıklık, metin yüzeyindeki sözcük ve tümce arasındaki anlamsal ilişkiyi somut boyutuyla incelemektedir. Yüzey metnin doğrudan kendisine yönelik olan bağlaşıklık, bu noktada en önemli metinsellik ölçütü olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Metindilbiliminin kriterleri çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilen bu çalışmanın konusunu oluşturan da Kafka'nm "Melezleme" adlı öyküsündeki bağlaşıklık düzeneklerinin çözümlenmesidir ve bu şekilde incelenen öykünün küçük ölçekli yapışma ışık tutulmasıdır. Söz konusu çalışma öncelikle anlatının temel katmanının tespit edilmesi ve ana karakterin elindeki nesneden kurtulma arzusu ile başlayan ve bu arzudan vazgeçmesi ile tamamlanan bu temel dönüşümün tespitinin ardından anlatının alt katmanlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Anlatı zemininde birbirine örüntüleneıek temel anlatı katmanının iskeletini oluşturan bu yedi farklı alt katmanlar da kendi içinde dönüşümler içermektedir ve bu haliyle anlatının ana karakterinin kurtulmak istediği nesnesi ile bütünleşmesine katkı sağlamaktadır.
