However, it is difficult to tell that story without addressing the history of the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) model that was crafted by Richards and Shiver ([14]) in this issue ("'What's Worth Doing? What is more common is that a few readings and lectures are devoted to TPSR in the physical education teacher education programs. Of the handful of professors nationally who have established TPSR as their major focus, most were hired within physical education teacher education or sport psychology programs. Within physical education, TPSR is one of the leading best practices to address social and emotional learning in physical education ([8]) and after-school programming ([4]).
