Light emitting diodes (LEDs) have revolutionized the world, and white LED sources are now used prolifically in everyday life. However, these sources often have a well-defined blue peak in their spectra, which has been causing some concerns. Research indicates that wavelengths in the blue region are an important part of the visible spectrum and are instrumental in driving many biological processes. To evaluate the possible effects of white light sources such as LEDs, it is important to be able to measure their blue content.
