Wooden breast (WB) é uma miopatia que ocorre no músculo Pectoralis major de frangos de corte, macroscopicamente as carcaças foram caracterizadas por palidez, hipertrofia e rigidez no peito, que ao corte da pele apresentou fina camada de material transparente a amarelado, áreas pálidas e enrijecidas e uma acentuada hipertrofia na superfície ventral, principalmente na região caudal do filé, também com estrias esbranquiçadas similares a White striping. Histologicamente identificou-se um processo de miodegeneração, regeneração e fibrose. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
