This article looks at the intention of some Catholic cybersurfers as of June 2005 to elevate Saint Isidore of Seville to become the patron saint of the Internet. Supporters said that the saint constructed the first database called The Etymologies. But Saint Isidore have competition: San Pedro Regalado, a priest who could be in two places at one time--a sort of medieval hyper linker. So far, neither has clicked with the Vatican. |
