AbstractAn important topic in the manufacturing industry is the assessment of lifetime performance. In this paper, we propose the jackknife empirical likelihood (JEL) and some of its developments to construct confidence intervals for the lifetime performance index. We compare the performance of the proposed methods with the normal approximation (NA) and two bootstrap methods in terms of the coverage probability, average length, and computational cost criteria by Monte Carlo simulation. Then, we apply the proposed methods to construct some confidence intervals based on a real dataset. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
