If an airline bumps you, you're entitled to compensation only if you've already checked into your flight and arrived at the departure gate on time and the airline cannot get you to your destination within one hour of your flight's original arrival time. The Bill of Rights would require airlines to pay at least $1,350 to passengers denied boarding because of an oversold flight, as well as requiring airlines to immediately refund bag fees for damaged or lost bags.
