In this article, the materials used for glass (mineral) and plastic (organic) spectacle lenses and the properties of monofocal, bifocal, trifocal and multifocal spectacle lenses are investigated. On the other hand, the new generation personalized lenses, which were produced by freeform technology and customized high resolution (HD) wavefront-guided spectacle lenses and ongoing glass research studies are also discussed. Bu yazıda cam (mineral) ve plastik (organik) gözlük camlarının üretim materyalleri ile tek odaklı (monofokal), iki odaklı (bifokal), üç odaklı (trifokal) ve çok odaklı (mültifokal) gözlük camlarının özellikleri incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, modern optikte freeform teknolojisiyle üretilmişve kullanıma sunulmuşolan yeni nesil kişiye özel gözlük camları ile kişinin aberasyonlarını dalga düzlemi (wavefront) ölçümleriyle belirleyerek gerçek anlamda kişiye özel üretilen yüksek çözünürlüklü (YÇ) gözlük camları ve sürmekte olan cam araştırmaları ele alınmıştır.
