The article presents information on various conservation activities undertaken by the Earthwatch Institute. The introduction of radio in the Samburu-Laikipia region of Kenya has helped reduce the problem of poaching of elephants. With a grant from the Clowes Foundation, Earthwatch has developed evaluation tools to track the experience of education fellows, both before and after their expedition. Earthwatch teams are helping biologist Brad Norman track the movements and biology of whale sharks. |
