A new species of large crustacean, Bathynomus vaderi, has been discovered off the coast of Vietnam and named after the Star Wars character Darth Vader. Resembling Vader's mask, this isopod can grow over 30 centimeters long and weigh more than a kilogram. Found in the depths of 800 to 1200 meters near the Spratly Islands, this creature has become a popular seafood delicacy in Vietnamese restaurants since 2017, with some comparing its taste to lobster.
