مستخلص: |
Dilute aqueous dispersions of rod-like DNA helix bundles prepared by the DNA origami method are studied using static and dynamic light scattering. Observed masses and sizes of the scattering particles agree in principle with the properties that are expected. Only the ratio of the radius of gyration and the hydrodynamic radius deviates from the expectation for rigid rods for some samples, seemingly indicating a more coil-like behavior. To which extent this observation might be attributed to a hindered rotational and translational diffusion caused by unpaired single stranded DNA sections remains to be investigated.
