مستخلص: The article discusses the limitations of using rat models to study human pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD) mechanisms. While rat models have shown promising results in targeting the PKR-ISR axis to manage PVOD, human cases may not exhibit the same activation of this pathway. The study highlights the importance of considering species-specific differences in disease mechanisms and suggests that alternative pathways, such as GCN2 and the BMPR2-SMAD axis, may be more critical in human PVOD. The findings underscore the need for improved in vivo models that better mimic human disease to develop effective therapeutic interventions. [Extracted from the article]
