مستخلص: |
This article presents the findings of a double-blinded placebo-controlled randomized trial investigating the efficacy of memantine as a cognitive function protective agent for brain metastatic patients undergoing radiation therapy. The study included adult patients with brain metastases who were randomized to receive either placebo or memantine for 6 months. Cognitive scores were assessed at baseline, 16 weeks, and 24 weeks. The interim analysis showed that the memantine arm had statistically significant cognitive preservation in brain metastatic patients receiving stereotactic radiosurgery.
