Data-driven methods have proven to be a competent tool for investigating various physical phenomena. A large amount of fluid mechanics problems are not easy to solve if their dynamics do not adhere to the available characteristic equations. Such flow problems can only be analyzed with the help of data driven techniques. Here Dynamic Mode Decomposition is applied to a regular flow over cylinder problem with various cases having different Reynolds and Richardson numbers. The fluid flow data required for the algorithm is obtained from CFD analysis using OpenFOAM. The output data obtained from the algorithm includes the dynamic modes corresponding to vortex shedding patterns observed on all cases. These patterns are plotted to show the capabilities of the algorithm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
