مستخلص: The effect of organochlorine insecticide, lindane on Indian fresh water cat fish species, Clarias batrachus was investigated in fresh water at 25-30 dergree centrigrade under laboratory condition. Three sublethal concentrations of lindane (hexachlorocyclohexane) were prepared as 0.4mg/L, 0.6mg/L and 0.8mg/L. The LC 50 (96 hour exposure) value was found to be 0.98mg/L. The results indicate the lowering of Hb%, total RBC count and GSI of fishes under treatment whereas the increased WBC count is recorded in the treated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
