الوصف: Background. The aim of the research was to study dimensional and topographic anatomical characteristics of the incisive canal in first adulthood depending on the value of hard palate height-length index. Materials and methods. 80 men aged from 22 to 35 years and 94 women aged from 21 to 35 years (174 persons of the first adulthood). Bone palate parameters were studied on cast dental models; dimensional-topographic characteristics of the incisive canal were done on cone-beam computed tomography. Results. The greatest mesio-distal diameter of nasal foramen was in the group of gipsydolichostaphilia, the lowest one was in the group of hamedolichostaphilia. Distances between foramen incisivum and inferior-labial, inferior-palatal points of maxillary alveolar process were maximal in the group of hypsidolichostaphilia. Value of the incisive canal length prevails in the study subjects that have high bone palate. The greatest inclination angle of incisive canal relative to the bone palate plane was found in hamedolichostaphilia, and relative to the long axis of maxillary alveolar process was in hypsidolichostaphilia. When height of bone palate increases in sagittal plane, the incisive canal inclination relative to bone palate plane decreases. Conclusion. Incisive canal has a pronounced individual variability in anatomy, size, and topography depending on the ratio of height and length of the bone palate.
