| الوصف: | Introduction: Studies of medical ethnobotany have aroused growing interest in central Argentina, with few references to the arid and saline ecosystems of Córdoba. The objective of this research is to interpret knowledge and use of medicinal plants within the framework of the rurality of Salinas Grandes. M&M: Specialists and practitioners of domestic medicine were selected by intentional sampling and snowball technique, using interviews with field trips and observation of domestic gardens. Digital and written records of interviewee’s accounts were taken, which were characterized qualitatively. Results: We identified 332 medicinal uses from 120 plant species (51% wild native, 38% introduced cultivated) from 55 botanical families. In relation to ethnomedicine, we examined etiology, forms of diagnosis and therapy of popular ailments such as "empacho", "culebrilla", "pata de cabra", "ojeadura", on addition to ritual and healing by footprint. Conclusions: The vegetal pharmacopoeia of Salinas Grandes is rich in the number of medicinal species despite the context of extreme conditions. The presence of sacred aspects accounts for the validity of an integral medicine within the framework of a complex ethnomedical system. ; Introducción: Los estudios de etnobotánica médica han concitado un interés creciente en el centro de Argentina, siendo escasas las referencias a ecosistemas áridos y salinos de Córdoba. Se propone como objetivo interpretar el conocimiento y uso de las plantas medicinales en el marco de la ruralidad de las Salinas Grandes. M&M: Se seleccionaron por muestreo intencional y por técnica de bola de nieve especialistas y practicantes de la medicina doméstica, aplicando entrevistas con recorridas a campo y observación de jardines domésticos.
