| الوصف: | Consumption of vegetables and fruits among the inhabitants of Kaunas city Murava eldership. Relevant topics. Fruits and vegetables play a very important role in a healthy diet. While having a daily intake at least of four hundred grams per day, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), our whole nutrition is being added with vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytochemicals. If all of those fruits as well as fresh vegetables were consumed properly on a daily basis, then it could really help us in protecting against chronic and non-infectious diseases. The aim of our research. To evaluate the consumption of fruits and vegetables among the residents of Murava eldeship in the city of Kaunas. Research tasks 1. To describe the variety of vegetables as well as those according benefits for our health. 2. To evaluate the consuming of fruits and vegetables by the residents of Murava eldership of Kaunas city according to the frequency. 3. To determine the consumption of fruits and vegetables by the residents of Murava eldership of Kaunas city by species. Methodology of an empirical research. A Quantitative research as well as the questionnaire survey were performed accordingly, while hundred and twenty three residents of Murava eldership were interviewed during the research. The questionnaire was formed of those very specific questions to help us in finding out what were those habits of consuming fruits and vegetables of Murava eldership residents in the city of Kaunas. The according statistical analysis has also been performed using Microsoft Excel 2013. Results. Resuming the empiric research an appropriate conclusion could be made that the residents of Murava eldership of Kaunas city have consumed insufficient amount of fruits and vegetables. Four servings and more vegetables were consumed by only a ten percent of our respondents, while very same portion of fruits was consumed by only seventeen percent of those interviewed.
