الوصف: | In this study, the moxidectin solubility in four kinds of aqueous cosolvent mixtures of methanol + water, ethanol + water, isopropanol + water, and ethylene glycol (EG) + water was determined by the gravimetric method at the investigated temperatures of 278.15–323.15 K under 101.2 kPa. All cosolvents (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, and EG) displayed good dissolving capability, and the order of solubility from high to low in the mole fraction scale of solubility is as follows: ethanol (0.2229, 323.15 K) > methanol (0.1053, 323.15 K) > isopropanol (4.552 × 10 –2 , 323.15 K) > EG (2.103 × 10 –2 , 323.15 K) > water (2.491 × 10 –5 , 323.15 K). From the data obtained for temperature and cosolvent mass fractions, the moxidectin solubility values were found to be the largest in the ethanol + water system than in the other systems. The equilibrated solids of moxidectin were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, revealing the absence of solvate formation and crystal transition during the entire experiments. The measured solubility values were quantitatively calculated and correlated mathematically by three models; in conclusion, the obtained values of relative average deviation and root-mean-square deviation were not higher than 5.81% and 1.556 × 10 –3 , respectively. |
