| الوصف: | Organizational communication has become an important management tool for the success of organization, whether public or private. Regarding the public area, it has been one of the main responsible for the progress and effectiveness of services and for generating information, in an agile and efficient way, necessary for decision making, in addition to influencing the productivity and quality of the administrative processes elaborated in public organization. In view of this, the present study aims to analyze, under the perception of the employees of a municipality in the Alto Oeste Potiguar, the importance of internal communication for the quality of the administrative processes developed in its municipal palace. To this end, the methodology used in the study is characterized as a descriptive survey with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The results showed that the communication channels used in the palace are effective and sufficient to transmit information within the organization, where the social network WhatsApp appears as the main one. In addition to realizing that the employees who work at this institution are aware of the importance of internal communication for the qualified development of their activities. However, there are still flaws in the communication process that need to be corrected by the municipal management. ; A comunicação organizacional passou a ser uma importante ferramenta de gestão para o sucesso das organizações, sejam públicas ou privadas. No tocante a área pública, ela tem sido uma das principais responsáveis pelo andamento e efetivação dos serviços e por gerar informações, de forma ágil e eficiente, necessárias para tomada de decisões, além de influenciar na produtividade e qualidade dos processos administrativos elaborado nas organizações públicas.
