الوصف: Performance evaluation in higher education has grown significantly in recent years. The aim of this article is to present the research data on the theme. To do this, a bibliometric study was carried out and then the amount of citations of 799 publications on the evaluation of performance in higher education published between 1977 and 2017 was analyzed. The results showed that the research on the subject was developed from two perspectives. The first, a quantitative one, sought to calculate the efficiency of higher education. The second perspective, in general, discussed the quality of higher education mainly through students' perceptions.
