| الوصف: | Urban afforestation is of fundamental importance, to maintain the quality of life of the population, in view of the numerous benefits generated, such as shading, improvement of the microclimate, and reduction of noise pollution, among many others. It is essential to maintain and care for these trees, thus preserving all these benefits. The present study aimed to identify the species present in the urban afforestation of two neighborhoods and a district of the municipality of Missal-PR. For this, a qualitative-quantitative survey was carried out where the species present in the most tree-lined streets (with 10 or more individuals) of each location were identified. After the analysis was made if they were exotic or native species. In the survey, 445 individuals were registered, distributed in 31 species of 18 botanical families. Distributed as follows: 141 trees in the Portão Ocoy district, 167 trees in the Jardim Gramado district and 137 trees in the Renascer district. The most frequent species were Ligustrum lucidum (Japan Privet), in the Portão do Ocoy district; in Jardim Gramado, Licania tomentosa (Oiti) and in Renascer, Mangifera indica (Mangueira). Thus, the greatest predominance was of exotic species, distributed as follows: of the 22 species found, 50% were native species and 50% were exotic species in the Portão Ocoy district; of the 16 species found, 75% of exotic species and 25% of native species in the Jardim Gramado neighborhood and of the 15 species found, 53% of exotic species and 47% of native species in the Renascer neighborhood. Therefore, from the results obtained, improvements are suggested for the afforestation of the analyzed sites, mainly indicating native trees to be implemented. ; A arborização urbana é de fundamental importância, para manter a qualidade de vida da população, tendo em vista os inúmeros benefícios gerados, como o sombreamento, a melhoria do microclima, e a diminuição da poluição sonora entre muitos outros.
